An “EGG’tra” Special Give-Away

Christmas is a BIG DEAL!

In a million different ways, we celebrate and commemorate the “Great Rescue Plan” that God set into motion when He sent His only Son (a King, our Rescuer) as a lowly baby to be born in a stable among stinky animals. And though Christmas is a wonderful season to celebrate (an absolutely important work of God), it falls short if that’s the end of our celebrations.

Easter seems to get a lot less hype than Christmas (especially from our culture and commercialism), but it’s SUPER important!

In fact, without Easter, Christmas and the “Great Rescue Plan” would be nothing more than a story with some rising action.

Without Easter, there would be no climax and no resolution.

But Praise the Lord, this wasn’t the end of the story! In fact, the “Great Rescue Plan” was carried out on Easter.

Our King, our Rescuer, became lowly (once again) and submitted Himself to death on a cross. And after He died a death that was gruesome, unjust, and hardly fitting for a King, He rose again and put death right where it belongs…BENEATH HIM.

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, All fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.

Bill and Gloria Gaither, Because He Lives

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids him rise, Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise, Alleluia!

-Charles Wesley, Christ the Lord is Risen Today

Jesus has overcome
And the grave is overwhelmed
The victory is won
He is risen from the dead

-Chris Tomlin, I Will Rise

Because of Easter, the work is done; the battle is over; and we have been forever rescued!!!

And because this is a BIG DEAL, we’ve been focusing on ways we can draw our family’s attention toward Easter and the amazing work He did on the cross.

One of those ways we’ve been remembering, has been through the use of these Resurrection Eggs!

As we read the story together, open the eggs, and find the surprise inside (a symbol of Jesus’ journey to the cross), we remember and relive the events of those history-changing hours.

So, what am I giving away for this month’s “Do-Good Give-Away?”

I will be giving away TWO cartons of eggs to TWO, random winners!

And what do you have to do to win?

In the comment section below, share one way that you are drawing your attention to Easter and the work of the cross.

On Monday at 4:00 PM (EST), I will select two winners!

Happy Early Easter!!

  1. Brody loves watching Paw Patrol and he asked if he could watch the “Mer-pup” episode. I said yes, buddy. Then two minutes later he asked again, and then when he had to go potty, and while he was going, and afterwards. He kept asking and I kept saying “Yes!” Finally I said to him, “Brody, I don’t know why you keep asking because my answer is not going to change!” Immediately, a whisper to my heart. Hmmm isn’t that just like God? Jesus asked God to change his answer about the cross but He didn’t, and Jesus said yes in full obedience!

  2. We love the old Arch Bible story books and have a bunch of them. The rhyming helps our boys learn them. It amazes us when we pause and they finish the sentence or even a page two 🙂 There are a few that are Easter-focused…we are prioritizing those right now.

  3. We are reading “The Easter Story” book and have a countdown (since her birthday is the day before Easter). I’m trying to teach her that Easter isn’t about egg hunts and baskets as well.

  4. Thanks for sharing your ideas, ladies!! Praying each of you will have a blessed Easter with your kids remembering and celebrating the work of the cross! This month’s give-away winners are Joni and Ruthie!
